I'm on a winning streak

This week has been so much fun for so many reasons I don’t really know where I should start. First, we had a tattoo party at Sunshine’s and, let me tell you, we are one inked up group of bloggers. What made all the tattoos so special were the beautiful stories that went with each one of them. My favorite story, by far, came from Laura at Adventures in Juggling. She has her son’s tiny baby feet tattooed to her chest, next to heart, as a symbol of their bond. I dare you to read her story and not get a little teary-eyed. I showed the post to my husband and even he got emotional over it.

Of course, there was Autumn’s Mom who got her tattoo after her now ex-husband told her she couldn’t (You go! I would have done the same thing.), and Secret Agent Mom, who gave herself a tattoo as a reward for achieve a personal goal (oh, and being a newspaper gal myself, I love the design of her site), and then there’s Busy Dad, who can easily keep his tattoos hidden, “Thug lite, if you will.” (I love that sentence. It makes me crack up every time I think about it.). With so many stories, I couldn’t possibly write about them all here, so when you’re done here, click on over to Sunshine’s and read all the submitted stories, you will be glad you did.

Oh, and I almost forgot, the tattoo party was also a guessing game to match which tattoo went with which blogger … and guess who had the most accurate guesses ME! I won a homemade (hopefully unmenacing) prison tattoo, courtesy of Sunshine. Um ... is there a runner up?

Speaking of winning … I’m on a streak, and since I usually never, ever, ever win anything, I’m going to take a couple of minutes and gloat about some of my recent winnings from this week. At notes from my nest, my name was randomly drawn after entering the Mother’s Day Blog Bash with this entry and I won this cute Wishes For My Baby keepsake tin (that was delivered this week) that one very lucky pregnant friend of mine will be getting as a baby shower gift.

At Parent Bloggers Network, I won their May new newsletter subscriber offer, which is an assortment of children’s DVDs. If you don’t already subscribe to their newsletter, sign up during the month of June and you will be entered to win one of two prizes: the Sex and the City coffee table book, and the Ultimate Guide to Makeup, Skin, and Hair from Sephora. Winners are drawn at random.

So far, random acts have been working in my favor and it’s pretty cool.

This week’s lesson has absolutely nothing to do with anything I just wrote about, instead, here is what I learned this week … shoe fetish is an inherited trait that I’ve passed along to my little darling.

Yes, she put them on herself, on the right feet, no less, and not only stood and walked around in them, but walked up and down a step. That's my girl!

You really did the most work trying to figure out everyone's tats, you totally deserve it!

I'm thinking you'd look great with one of those menacing skulls? No? Too much?
